Administrative Assistant

OPPORTUNITY

Under the Canada Summer Jobs program, Pro Coro Canada is looking for an Administrative Assistant to work with the organization for the months of May and June 2025 to close off the performance season and transition operations into the start of the 2025/2026 season.

Canada Summer Jobs is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS), which aims to provide quality summer employment opportunities for youth to develop skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.

To be eligible, youth must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*

  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment

  • and have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

    *The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Administrative Assistant works with the Managing Director and/or the Business Operations Lead at Pro Coro's downtown office to achieve following:

  • archive (digital and paper) materials from the performance season, including sheet music library, and video and audio materials;

  • update annual statistics report and collect performance data (Excel);

  • update website (based on provided templates and copy);

  • general office work as requested (file organization, shredding, scanning, etc.)

The administrative assistant will assist the organization in one performance event, i.e. with Front-of-House and production needs. The administrative assistant will have access to a workstation with both PC and Mac available.


THE INDIVIDUAL

Given the role this individual will play in supporting the success of a small not-for-profit performing arts organization with global reach, it is essential that the successful candidate works independently and efficiently, finishes tasks successfully, and is self-motivated.

EDUCATION

  • Post-secondary education

COMPETENCIES AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent English writing abilities, both casual and structured.

  • Social Media Knowledge (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram).

  • Proficient working with databases, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel); experience with CRMs and Google Suite.

  • Ideally, knowledge of the performing arts and classical choral music genre.

Reports to: Managing and Artistic Director, Pro Coro Canada
Time Commitment:
Full-time employment, 30 hours per week, for the months May and June 2025,  starting May 1, 2025
Wage: $22.00 per hour
This position requires evening and weekend availability, and the flexibility to work remotely and in Pro Coro Canada’s downtown office.
