For the 24.25 season, interested Emerging Artists are invited to send an email to thechoir@procoro.ca
Conductors
The development of conductors is integral to a vibrant choral scene across our country. Every year, PCC selects three emerging conductors for the Emerging Conductor Program. The conductors have the opportunity to work with Michael Zaugg and PCC intensively over a period of 10 days – both in a one-on-one capacity and working with the choir. The conductors are also able to observe multiple conductors and choirs in the Edmonton area through their contact with PCC. Each ten-day period includes the opportunity for the conductor to perform in public with PCC.
Conductors are responsible for their travel to Edmonton and their accommodation and meals. Billeting can be arranged but isn’t guaranteed. If you are interested in being part of this program, please send a letter of introduction and resume to Michael Zaugg at michaelzaugg@procoro.ca.
Pro Coro #Connect
The Pro Coro #connect Choir is a project-based choir that brings together young singers from across the Edmonton area to work in a professional-style environment with Artistic Director, Michael Zaugg.
This choir works together on a bi-annual basis in order to support, connect and enhance the activities of Edmonton’s already vibrant youth choir tradition.
Emerging Artist Interns
Selected by competitive audition and mentored by professional PCC singers, the four vocal artists perform alongside PCC and work with Artistic Director Michael Zaugg. Not only do the singers learn to work in a professional environment, they are paid for their work, and experience a competitive application process that includes a resume and letter screening process, interview and formal audition with the Artistic Director. A priority of the program is to offer frequent feedback to the interns through informal and formal evaluations. If you are interested in auditioning, please send a letter of introduction and resume to thechoir@procoro.ca
Composers
The goal for the Emerging Composers is to understand the professional choral instrument and learn to compose for this level of ensemble. Composers will bring their works to our Artistic Director for revision and will have their works workshopped by the choir. They will sit in on rehearsals to learn about the scope of what a professional choir can do.
Composers are responsible for their travel to Edmonton and their accommodation and meals. Billeting can be arranged but isn’t guaranteed. If you are interested in being part of this program, please send a letter of introduction and resume to Michael Zaugg at michaelzaugg@procoro.ca.
