Click here to hear a short excerpt from our upcoming concert Pro Coro Canada is excited to perform music by Canadian composers. Our upcoming concert features excerpts from Shades of Love by Ruth Watson Henderson. She studied piano from 1937-45 and received many scholarships and awards. After her professional debut in Toronto in 1952, she was active as a concert pianist appearing frequently as a soloist with Canadian orchestras and on CBC radio. Henderson began composing while working as the accompanist of the Festival Singers (now, Elmer Iseler Singers) in 1968, and since then has been a prolific composer, writing more than 80 pieces for the choral repertory alone. Best known as a composer of choral music, Henderson has also written for organ, piano, string orchestra, and for winds, brass and percussion.
