Magnificat

September 17, 2017 - 3:00pm
All Saints' Anglican Cathedral

The Magnificat, also known as the Song of Mary, has been an inspiration to composers for over seven centuries. This ancient hymn will be explored through a cappella music by Vic Nees, Arvo Pärt, Charles Villiers Stanford and Giles Swayne as well as by earlier composers Giovanni Gabrieli and Heinrich Schütz, and through a newer interpretation by Quebecois composer François-Hugues Leclair.
